It’s too cold to ride so I’m making plans for future rides. One of the rides my wife and I try to do every year is the Blessing of the Bikes at Bald Knob in Southern Illinois.

This year will be the 20th year the Lord’s Paheece chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association has sponsored this event. We have been going for approximately 7 years, and it seems like every year they have a larger turnout than the year before.

One of the great things about this event is the venue; Bald Knob. For those of you not familiar with it Bald Knob is the highest point in Southern Illinois, and I think the second highest in the entire state. The view from the top is spectacular, and on a clear day you can see 4 states. There is also a large cross over 100 feet tall located at the summit. This makes it a perfect place for the blessing of the bikes.

This year’s event will be held on April 29th 7:30am to 3:00pm, RAIN OR SHINE. Hope to see you there!
